Job Overview

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining our current systems including installation, monitoring and maintenance of the organizations IT network and associated hardware and software.


  • Provide technical oversight of a multi-site network, including planning, implementation/expansion, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of network and hardware assets.
  • Design, deploy, and administer the wireless infrastructure and supporting systems.
  • Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
  • Analyze and monitor server security and implement patches and fixes to address potential security holes.
  • Setting up of new users on computers and network.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
  • Work closely with departmental managers to determine future network needs and plan for network changes.
  • Analyze the current network structure and submit quarterly comprehensive reports to executive team on how to make the network more efficient.
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • IT equipment procurement.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Setup & maintain employee’s telephone system, alarm access, active directory accounts, exchange mailboxes, remote access security, network file storage and other appropriate systems.
  • Maintain hardware warranties, domain names and ensure software license compliance.
  • Maintains relationships with IT vendors and review invoicing.
  • Maintains and administer both on site, remote and cloud-based servers and other systems.
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science or related field of study.
  • Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices.
  • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Ability to work with all levels of IT staff inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • Experience with local area network and wide area network administration.
